Measurement by ion-selective electrodes (ISE) is applicable in virtually every laboratory. Analytical methods using ISEs have been developed and published throughout the world. Electrode measurements are simpler and faster than other analytical techniques. Sample preparation steps such as filtration or distillation are rarely needed. Sample color and turbidity do not affect the measurement. On the following pages are the most popular Orion ISEs from Thermo Electron. The Orion half-cell ISEs are solid state for some species, and plastic membrane for others. Gas sensing combination electrode is listed for Ammonia. The new ionplus® Sure-Flow® combination ISE electrodes from Orion are the latest offering from the leader in ion-selective technology. These electrodes do not require a separate reference electrode. The Sure-Flow® junction makes maintenance easy. Measure any type of dirty or viscous sample, and simply flush the junction clean-no clogged electrodes.
