Heat to 1600°C in less than one hour or use the programmer to ramp at controlled heating rates. Ideal for ultra high temperature heat treating and reacting studies, sintering processes, and firing of ceramics.
Specifications: Silicon carbide heating elements, located on two sides of chamber, provide a uniform chamber temperature. Furnace chamber construction consists of hard wearing refractory around the door opening, a long-life cast high alumina hearth, and lightweight ceramic fiber insulation. Operator safety is enhanced through double shell construction producing low temperature outer case, a positive break safety door switch that cuts power when door is opened, and an easy to operate upward opening door that keeps the hot face away from the operator. Furnace is equipped with a chimney vent for process exhaust. A long-life Type R thermocouple is utilized to provide the furnace control reference. Furnace temperature controller is a highly accurate 8 segment programmable control. Each segment may be either a ramp (up or down) or a dwell (timed soak). This PID instrument incorporates two LED digital displays that simultaneously indicate actual furnace temperature and set-point temperature. Unique control system allows increasing power to the heating elements to compensate for element resistance change during the aging process. Temperature may be displayed in degrees C or F. Maximum temperature 1600°C. 4500 Watts, 208/220V.
