The can profile analyzer is a computerized, fully automatic instrument for non-contact measurement of bead depth, flange width, and can height. During the measuring process, a laser scans the can profile from bottom to top and a video sensor records the laser reflection. The software then calculates all relevant dimensions and analyzes the results. Detailed information about each bead is displayed, including: bead depth, bead width, width at 20% height, radius at the bottom of the bead, and symmetry. A profile of the beads can also be saved into the database. The CPA is capable of measuring cans from 2" to 10" in diameter and from 2" to 10" high without change parts.
